Beetroot halva


Ingredients-
1.600 grams beetroot(6 medium sized)
2.half liter full fat milk
3.1.5 cup sugar
4.chopped nuts(dry fruits)
5.cardamom powder (Optional)
6. 3 tbsp ghee

Method-

1.Rinse beetroot very well under running water.peel wash again and great them.

2.I used my mini grater so cut beetroot in small cubes and grate them with my hand blender attached grater.




3.combine milk and grated beetroot in a nonstick pan or heavy bottom kadai.


4.Heat the mixture on high flam. When it start boiling reduce flame and let it simmer on medium  flame.(nonstick pan is more convenient. You have not stir congratulations)

5.when milk has evaporated reduce flame on low and add sugar.

6.mix well and simmer on low flame.add ghee.

7.now keep on stirring in between.


8.when halwa become little sticky and dark in colour it is ready to serve.

9.serve halwa hot warm or cold.

10.i personally  like combo of hot halwa topped with chilled homemade vanilla ice cream.
